Educational Requirements to Become a General Dentist

In order to practice general dentistry in any state, dental students must complete an undergraduate degree with a strong foundation in science followed by four years of dental school. Upon graduation from dental school, the student must also pass a licensing exam in the state where he or she intends to practice general dentistry.

Dr. Haque’s educational background includes graduation from the Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Additionally, Dr. Haque is a published author, teaches part-time at the Midwestern College of Dental Medicine, and has completed several advanced education degrees in topics such as dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. Lastly, he is a member of numerous prestigious dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry and the Illinois State Dental Association.
